About The Chronology Game
Ever sat around with friends arguing about whether the telephone came before the lightbulb? That's basically why this exists. Try it out and see how well you know your history.
What is it?
The Chronology Game is a free online version of timeline card games. If you've played Timeline, Chronology, Anno Domini, or Cardline at a game night, you know the drill. Place events in order, hope you're right, learn something when you're wrong.
Why we made it
Physical timeline games are great, but they cost money, require other people, and eventually you memorize all the cards. This version has over 2,000 events, costs nothing, and works on your phone during a boring meeting.
How it's different
Unlike other online trivia games that just ask "what year did X happen?", this is about relative ordering. You don't need to know that the Great Fire of London was 1666. You just need to know it was after the printing press and before the American Revolution.
The events
We've got everything from ancient history to last decade. World events, scientific breakthroughs, inventions, sports moments, pop culture milestones. Roughly categorized but honestly, the fun is when a moon landing shows up next to a Beatles album.
Think of it as Timeline, but infinite and free.
